My daughter had received a check for a bit over $3,000. She was to wire 10% of the sum through Western Union.

My daughter wanted to check it out so she went to my bank and since she has no account, used the check to open one.

The teller advised for her to let him fax a copy to whomever to get it checked. Two days later, my daughter received a phone call from the bank stating that it was fake.
